Layout Photos added 02/10/00

The photos in this latest addition are a little larger than previously, so they will be linked to the text rather than displayed on this page with the text.

This update consists of three photos of an empty coal hopper train passing up and over Horseshoe Curve. The train is headed by a PRR 2-10-2 class N1s in this (first picture). After the engine rouned the curve, it headed into a tunnel under an "all clear" position light signal in the (second picture). The N1s didn't have to work too hard with the train, even though the grade around the curve is a stout 1.8%, since it was ably assisted by a pair of I1s 2-10-0 snappers (helpers), as seen in the (third picture).
